There’s nothing like an award win to make you feel invigorated about the work you do. Of course, as a Maidenhead mortgage broker that’s been delivering what we feel is award-winning work since 2005, we don’t need an award to validate our work – but it’s certainly nice to be recognised at a national level.

And that’s exactly what happened at the Mortgage Intelligence Awards, which took place on 16 May as part of the Mortgage Intelligence Conference.

This year’s event, which was the largest yet, took place at Silverstone Circuit and provided the opportunity for mortgage brokers from across the UK to network and share best practice.

And yes, we scooped the Top Mortgage Brokerage Award (2 – 6 brokers), which our entire team of Berkshire mortgage brokers are incredibly proud of.

A mark of excellence

However, whilst we are grateful for being acknowledged, from our perspective an award win is more beneficial for our clients, who can look to our award win as a third-party endorsement that the quality of our work, advice and team is of the highest standard.

There are always varying degrees of quality in each and every sector – from financial advice and mortgage markets through to manufacturing and restaurants.

Essentially, there are always two ends of a spectrum. The difficulty for customers is trying to establish where on that spectrum the company they’re considering engaging with lies.

Choosing wisely

And when it comes to getting mortgage advice, people must choose wisely.

After all, getting it wrong could be a costly – and long-term – mistake. At one time, there were many advice articles with titles such as Pros and cons of using a mortgage broker. These days, however, it’s generally accepted that using a mortgage broker is a good thing. So, the next step is more about how to choose a good mortgage broker.

Whether it’s a mark of excellence in the form of an award win or specialist industry qualifications, those thinking about speaking with a mortgage broker should be mindful of the various ‘signs’ that point towards the fact that the mortgage broker they’re thinking of using is actually a good mortgage broker.

Of course, you could always bypass the search and just give us a call.

We are award-winners, after all.
